The Best Gluten-Free Crackers to Pair With Your Favorite Cheeses

Editor’s note: We previously shared experts picks for crackers that go with cheese, but didn’t pay full attention to gluten-free options. Thanks to Erika Lenkert for sharing her knowledge and helping to make cheese plates more accessible to all eaters.

No cheese plate is complete without great crackers. The options are nearly endless these days with everything from plain and lightly salted, to super seeded and flavored with things like herbs and spices. And if you’re gluten-free, there are more options than ever from which to choose. To find the very best gluten-free crackers, we tried many boxes to find the crunchiest, crispiest, and tastiest varieties to pair with your favorite cheeses. We also enlisted the help of Erika Lenkert, the editor-in-chief of GFF Magazine to share some of her favorites. Even if you’re not gluten-free, these crackers are sure to please.

Mary's Gone Crackers

Mary’s Gone Super Seed Everything Crackers

Whether you eat a strictly gluten-free diet or not, Mary’s Gone Super Seed Everything Crackers are a true crowd pleaser. “These are classic, earthy, wholesome, and super crisp,” Lenkert says. They offer a satisfying shatter when bitten into, but the variety of seeds makes them hearty enough to stand up to a variety of toppings. Buttery gouda plays beautifully with Everything flavors like garlic, onion, and poppy seed. These crackers also made it onto our original list of favorite crackers to go with cheese.

Simple Mills almond crackers

Simple Mills Rosemary & Sea Salt Almond Flour Crackers

Simple Mills’ Almond Flour Crackers have an addicting texture with a mild, buttery crunch. In addition to being gluten-free, their blend of almond flour, sunflower seeds, and flax seeds also makes them paleo-friendly. We love the Rosemary & Sea Salt crackers paired with smooth chevre.

Absolutely gluten free gluten free flatbreads

Absolutely Gluten Free Original Flatbreads

Absolutely Gluten Free Original Flatbreads are made from potatoes and have a crunchy texture. “Gluten-free flatbread crackers! Yes!,” Lenkert says. “Plus they’re sturdy and tasty, perfect for cheese plates.” We especially love them topped with sharp, sweet, peppery roquefort because the flatbreads’ neutral flavor lets the pungent blue cheese shine.

34 Degrees Original Gluten Free Crisps

Chickpea-based 34 Degrees Original Gluten-Free Crisps have a smooth, light texture with a satisfying crunch. They are perfect for snacking on solo but also make a great accompaniment to a cheese and charcuterie board. Make sure that manchego is on the menu, as its creamy, nutty flavor is a perfect match for these crispy delights.

Schar table crackers

If you’ve been on a gluten-free diet and missing Saltines, we’re happy to report that Schär Gluten-Free Table Crackers are just as good, if not better, than the original. “I love these because they remind me of Saltines,” Lenkert says. “Plain, flaky, and ready to take on the flavor of anything you put on them.” Mild and lightly salty, they’re a perfect companion for pimento cheese.

Crunchmaster multi-grain crackers

Crunchmaster Multi-Grain Sea Salt Crackers

These crunchy seeded crackers are made with whole grains and olive oil to bring a wholesome twist to your next cheese plate. Crunchmaster Multi-Grain Sea Salt Crackers are crisp and satisfying with a mild flavor that pairs well with most toppings. We love them topped with creamy brie and dried fruit or jam.

Trader Joe’s Gluten-Free Norwegian Crispbreads

Trader Joe’s Gluten-Free Norwegian Crispbreads are one of the most versatile crackers on this list. We love them topped with everything from spicy mustard and avocado slices to cream cheese and lox. If you’re serving them with a cheese plate, make sure that a sharp English cheddar is on the board for a punchy flavor combo.

Maine Crisp

Maine Crisp Savory Fig & Thyme Crisps

“With layered flavors, gorgeous looks, and gourmet flair, these are elegant, fancy crackers,” Lenkert says. Maine Crisp Savory Fig & Thyme Crisps are made from hemp hearts and nutty buckwheat, and they get their rich flavor from walnuts, figs, thyme, and pepper. Salty Parmigiano Reggiano is a perfect match for its sweet and salty flavor.

New Beat Foods Cranberry Chorus

New Beat Foods Cranberry Chorus Quinoa Crackers

Quinoa is a little seed that’s full of protein and fiber, and it absolutely sings in New Beat Foods Cranberry Chorus Quinoa Crackers. Cranberries, pumpkin seeds, honey, and sea salt give these toasty, crunchy crackers a sweet-salty flavor that is irresistible. Top them with nutty gruyere for a satisfying snack.

Cult Crackers

Cult Crackers Classic Seed Crackers

“I love Bay Area-based Cult Crackers, and their flavor has a little hint of sesame stick, which I happen to adore,” Lenkert says. Cult Crackers Classic Seed Crackers are baked by hand in small batches at the Berkeley Kitchens in California, and the mix of flax, hemp, chia, sunflower, sesame, and pumpkin seeds pack a serious nutritional punch. We love the way that creamy camembert pairs with their nutty goodness.
