To start, it\u2019s got this kind of funny name, but it\u2019s actually just a really accurate description: weinkase, meaning \u201cwine cheese,\u201d and Lagrein, the name of the big red, Alto Adige wine that the wheels are soaked in.\u00a0<\/p>\n

Added to the wine during the soak is a combination of garlic and herbs for a cheese that doesn\u2019t just go well with sausage, but\u2026wait for it\u2026tastes like sausage.
