It has since grown into five retail locations, a catering business, a sit-down cafe and bar, and a bottle shop.<\/p>\n<p class=\"\">Vice President Emilio Mignucci\u2019s grandparents started the company after learning the ins and outs of retail while working for a Greek family in the immigrant neighborhood of South Philadelphia. They eventually saved up their money to buy the 300 square foot shop across the street which would soon become the first Di Bruno Bros.<\/p>\n<p class=\"\">Mignucci took over the business with his cousins when his grandparents were ready to retire at the end of 89. \u201cWe knew that if we didn&#8217;t take it over, their business would just go away,\u201d says Mignucci. \u201cThey worked too hard for too long to build something that deserves to live on much longer.\u201d<\/p>\n<p class=\"\">The mission here has always been about providing a unique experience to the customers and helping to make their day better. \u201cWhen my grandfather gave me the keys to the shop he told me people don\u2019t have to shop here, they choose to shop here,\u201d says Mignucci. \u201cIt&#8217;s our responsibility to welcome them into our kitchen and to give them this experience.\u201d<\/p>\n<p class=\"\">Mignucci goes on to add \u201cit\u2019s all about joking and having fun with people,\u201d while also providing an &#8220;emotional connection between the consumer and the products.\u201d He has traveled around the world to work with cheesemakers in Spain, France, and Italy to understand their process and learn about their products to sell them to his customers. \u201cI want to help people to understand the makers behind the product that they&#8217;re enjoying.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>\u00a0<\/p>\n<figure class=\"sqs-block-image-figure              intrinsic\"><\/p>\n<p>              <img decoding=\"async\" class=\"thumb-image\" data-image=\"https:\/\/images.squarespace-cdn.com\/content\/v1\/5eb43938f468c330e7d8d665\/d387b582-e248-4b6e-b31d-f52b63a89908\/Di+Bruno+Bros+interior.jpg\" data-image-dimensions=\"2000x1333\" data-image-focal-point=\"0.5,0.5\" alt=\"Di Bruno Bros interior\" data-load=\"false\" data-image-id=\"624ff3574f40e7379a555433\" data-type=\"image\" src=\"https:\/\/images.squarespace-cdn.com\/content\/v1\/5eb43938f468c330e7d8d665\/d387b582-e248-4b6e-b31d-f52b63a89908\/Di Bruno Bros interior.jpg?format=1000w\"><\/p>\n<\/figure>\n<h2><strong>The Store<\/strong><\/h2>\n<p class=\"\">The original Di Bruno Bros is located in Philadelphia\u2019s Italian Market neighborhood. The company describes the 300-square foot space as a \u201cEuropean-inspired shop\u201d with a cheese counter, charcuterie station, and antipasti bar.
